Haldir watched him move through the forests of Lothlorien.
Slipping through the trees, he trailed him as the other elf walked
along the ground. It was clear his target was deep in thought if he
didn’t hear or even feel someone following him.
When they reached
a secluded pool, Haldir settled down for a long wait.
“You might as well come down,” the lilting voice called up to
him.
Haldir looked surprised for a moment and then dropped to the
ground beside the other elf. He studied him for a moment and then
sat down next to him, his back to the same mallorn tree.
“You are sad meldir,” Haldir said, looking at his companion.
“Yes, I leave tomorrow and there was something I wanted but will
not be able to have,” Legolas said softly.
“May I ask you a question?” Haldir said.
“Of course,” the prince answered.
“What is it you want?” Haldir reached out and lifted his chin
until he could look into those clear cerulean eyes.
“You,” came the whispered reply.
“Then you shall have me,” Haldir answered as he leaned forward.
Slowly his lips caressed Legolas’. “Because I have wanted you
since the moment I laid eyes upon your ethereal face.”
“So dreams do come true,” Legolas sighed and Haldir laid him down
in the grass.
“Yes they do.”
